I feel as if I have never been gifted so greatly by chance and coincidence as I was when I randomly picked this book up. Just as I had, the main character Daniel too had unknowingly gone down a rabbit hole of mystery and drama by picking up Julian Carax’s ‘The Shadow of the Wind’. Daniel grows up as the book progresses, and as the story goes on the further he begins to dig into the tragic and still present mystery of Julian Carax. It was really the way readers are led through so many lives, connecting with so many characters, flawed and real, that made me love the book. Definitely recommend this for those who are nosy and want to know all the details.
